Clinical Negligence Team: Covid 19 Update
We recognise that the Coronavirus epidemic and the measures taken to combat it have imposed particular inconvenience and worry on those who have suffered personal injuries or unsatisfactory medical outcomes. Members of the team are determined to continue to provide a first-class service to all our clients. We are able to provide prompt advice, conduct conferences (by video or telephone), take part in Joint Settlement Meetings and appear in remote hearings, including trials. We are committed to supporting our clients more generally during this difficult period and members of the team are available by email, telephone or video to provide advice, including on an informal basis in the first instance.
We are fortunate that we have access to top quality video technology, installed as part of our major refurbishment last year, and it has been tried and tested. All members of the team are able to work remotely using the major software platforms.
We are also keen to use this opportunity to support the development of professional expertise and relationships with our instructing solicitors, and we will be running a series of on-line webinars as well as reviews of case law and procedure.
7BR has been consistently rated as one of the leading sets for clinical negligence by clients and by both Chambers & Partners and Legal 500. Members act for many of the leading claimant and defendant firms, across a broad range of work within the sector. Approved by the NHS Litigation Authority, we also act on behalf of private healthcare providers and individual practitioners.
The team consists of a number of the leading silks and senior juniors in this area, all of whom are ranked individually in the directories. Members have appeared in many of the leading cases including Bolitho, Greg v Scott, Cobham v Eeles, Bailey v Ministry of Defence.
Work undertaken includes actions for damages arising out of all types of clinical negligence with a particular expertise in catastrophic brain and spinal injuries, product liability, inquests, disciplinary tribunals and appeals, inquiries and Human Rights Act claims.
We offer expertise in and facilities for all forms of ADR.
