Holly Twist graduated from the University of Cambridge with a BA (Hons) in Arabic and Spanish and from the City Law School with a distinction on the GDL and Bar Course.
A member of the Inner Temple, Holly was awarded Exhibition Scholarships for both the GDL and the Bar Course. She was also awarded the Stephen Seabrooke Memorial Prize by the City Law School for her performance in her Criminal Advocacy and Litigation assessments on the Bar Course.
Prior to pupillage, Holly worked as a Legal Assistant at the Public Interest Law Centre under their Gypsy and Traveller Legal Advice Project. She has also previously worked in Corporate Fundraising at Crisis, the national homelessness charity.
Whilst studying and working, she volunteered as an Appropriate Adult across Southwark police stations, where she advocated for young people and vulnerable adults in detention. Holly was a volunteer Caseworker at Advocate, and provided legal representation to challenge permanent school exclusion with the School Exclusion Project. During her undergraduate studies, Holly also volunteered with the Learning Together Project in HMP Whitemoor.
