Nour practices across criminal and civil litigation, and has a particular interest in matters where human rights intersect with her practice areas.

Nour’s criminal practice covers general crime as well as fraud and business crime. Nour is instructed on a wide range of matters to represent defendants and prosecuting authorities in the Crown Court, the Magistrates’ Courts and the Youth Courts. She has specialist knowledge and experience acting for vulnerable adults and young defendants and is currently a Grade 2 CPS Prosecutor.

Nour is very capable of acting on international and multidisciplinary matters and has previously been instructed as a defence advocate in the international criminal law case of The Specialist Prosecutor v. Hashim Thaci et. al.

In her civil practice, Nour focused on cases involving allegations of negligence by public bodies and private entities. Nour acts for both claimants and defendants and has particular experience advising claimants in clinical negligence matters, acting for local authorities in personal injury claims, and advising on liability and quantum across these areas.

Prior to coming to the Bar, Nour qualified as a solicitor at a leading international commercial firm. She has worked as a lawyer in London, Tokyo and the Middle East, and previously worked on human rights-based challenges to unlawful surveillance in the UK, represented protesters in actions against the police in Lebanon, and acted for victims injured by the 2020 Beirut Port Explosion.

  • Prosecuted a number of fraud matters on behalf of the Insolvency Service.
  • Assisted Ayanna Nelson advising the NCA in a crypto-currency and NFT fraud case.

Notable Crime & Regulatory cases

The Specialist Prosecutor v Hashim Thaci et. al.

Led junior representing second defendant who is a politician and former leader in the Kosovo Liberation Army. The indictment included crimes against humanity and war crimes, including arbitrary attest and detention, torture and murder. Successfully applied for permission to appeal a decision by the trial court to admit prejudicial evidence.

R v G

G was charged with an offence under s.13 of the Terrorism Act 2000 for actions which took place during a protest. Following guilty plea, obtained a community order at sentence while the Prosecution had sought a custodial sentence.

Successfully defended a young defendant with learning difficulties in trial on multiple counts of ABH.


Civil Litigation and Clinical Negligence

  • Successfully represented several claimants in various claims for personal injury.
  • Acted in a number of interlocutory applications in multi-track cases, including dealing with applications for strike out in multi-track cases.

SB v an NHS Trust

Advised on quantum in relation to a clinical negligence claim for failure to remove foreign items left post-operatively in a patient receiving cancer treatment.

T v A Local Authority

Successfully defended a local authority in a claim for personal injury.


Human Rights and Public Law

  • Assisted lead counsel preparing advice in multiple human rights claims brought against local authorities, including former sex abuse cases and failures engaging Article 2 of the HRA 1998.
  • Assisted Steven Gray in the Supreme Court case of QX v SSHD.
  • Provided pro-bono advice to individuals charged with public order offences in the course of participating in protests.

A Local Authority v F

Instructed to represent Mother in the course of care proceedings.

O v G

Successfully represented Father at a fact-finding hearing and no findings were made against him in allegations of domestic violence and obtained contact arrangements order enabling Father to maintain his relationship with his children.

P v P

Assisted lead counsel in a contested hearing related to an application to return children to the UK under the Child Abduction and Custody Act 1985 (The Hague Convention 1980).
