Jack Guise studied Politics, Philosophy, and Economics at the University of Warwick. He graduated with First Class Honours, which included a First in his dissertation on criminal punishment.
He subsequently studied the GDL and the Bar Practice Course at the University of Law in London. He obtained a Distinction and an Outstanding respectively. Jack is a Lincoln’s Inn scholar, and was also awarded a scholarship by the University of Law.
Prior to pupillage, Jack worked as a paralegal at Leigh Day. His work focused on large multi-party actions in the High Court. While in this role he presented research to senior partnership members, developed several work processes, and provided training for other teams.
Jack has a wealth of experience volunteering in a legal context. He was a volunteer adviser at Citizen’s Advice, helping his clients with issues ranging from social security to consumer claims. Jack has also volunteered for IPSEA – a charity specialising in supporting parents and young people with law surrounding SEND. Jack was responsible for providing advice sessions and providing casework support. The latter included negotiating with Local Authorities on behalf of parents, and providing representation at case management and final hearings.
