David Earl has a busy common law practice which encompasses matrimonial finance and children cases, crime, employment and civil work.
Crime
David regularly appears in the Crown Court and undertakes complex cases in the Magistrates’ Court. David is a Grade 2 CPS Prosecutor. His cases have involved multi-handed drugs conspiracies, money laundering prosecutions, offences against the person, fraud and sexual offences. He also regularly receives instructions from HMRC and the Insolvency Service.
Family
David has a particular interest in matrimonial finance proceedings, regularly appearing at FDR appointments and final hearings. David also undertakes private law children work, often on a Direct Access basis or involving an international element. He acts for local authorities, parents and guardians in care proceedings and accepts instructions in Forced Marriage and Court of Protection work.
Employment
David has represented both claimants and respondents in the employment tribunal, building on experience gained before coming to the Bar while working in a human resources position for an international NGO. Cases have included unfair dismissal, discrimination – including that arising out of disability, sex and age – and pay disputes.
Civil
David’s civil work encompasses personal injury and clinical negligence, as well as applications under the Companies Act 2006 and Insolvency Act 1986.
