Adam Walker acted recently for a British Army officer who contracted bilharzia and neuroschistosomiasis (a parasitic worm infection of the Central Nervous System) while on a training exercise on the River Nile in Uganda, having not been provided with prophylactic protection against the infection. The Claimant suffered neurological injury to the spine leading to bowel and bladder dysfunction and compromised prospects in the Claimant’s intended post-service career as a commercial airline pilot.
