Catherine Rayner is quoted in The Guardian regarding Women and Equalities Select Committee report

7BR’s Catherine Rayner is quoted in The Guardian regarding a report published by the women and equalities select committee which calls for Britain to put in place protection similar to that in Germany, where pregnant women can only be made redundant in certain circumstances.

Following the report The Guardian writes:

“MPs are demanding urgent government action to tackle a ‘shocking and unacceptable’ rise in workplace discrimination in the UK against expectant and new mothers over the last decade.”

Catherine Rayner, a Barrister at 7BR and chair of the DLA, welcomes the report and recommendations of the Women and Equalities select committee on Maternity and Pregnancy Discrimination. Catherine’s evidence to the committee focused on the lack of enforceable rights for many women, because of their employment status, high ET fees, and the reduction in affordable and accessible legal advice
