Vittoria Trigilio specialises in the defence of serious crime, with a particular focus on corporate and economic crime and homicide.

Vittoria is fully bilingual in Italian and has a good working knowledge of French. Her language skills mean she is frequently involved in cases with an international element which require her to work in multiple languages.

Vittoria’s diligent and robust approach means that she is trusted by both lay clients and instructing solicitors when faced with challenging cases.

Vittoria’s practice involves complex, sensitive cases, often with an international element. She is often involved from the very early stages of an investigation.

Vittoria’s background prior to coming to the Bar was in the prosecution of complex corporate and economic crime, with a particular focus on cases involving international bribery, corruption and complex fraud. The combination of this background, her experience at the Bar and her language skills mean that she is highly sought after to advise and work on complex and multi-jurisdictional cases.

Vittoria was also one of the assistant contributors to the book “Deferred Prosecution Agreements: The Law and Practice of Negotiated Corporate Criminal Penalties”.

Vittoria is an experienced advocate in the defence of allegations of homicide. Her experience includes representing defendants who are young, or with complex mental health needs, in serious cases.

R v T

Led junior in murder case involving a vulnerable defendant suffering from serious mental health conditions. The case involved difficult and sensitive evidence, the victim being the defendant’s father. Further to a lengthy process, the Crown withdrew the count of murder and proceeded with manslaughter by reason of diminished responsibility only.
