Before starting pupillage, Sephlin volunteered for pro-bono organisations including the Citizens Advice Bureau and Support Through Court, advising clients on a range of housing, employment, and family matters and assisting litigants-in-person with court submissions. Sephlin also worked as a volunteer trade union representative for the Cleaners and Allied Independent Workers Union, representing members in a range of employment hearings and in employment tribunal disputes.
Sephlin worked as a paralegal in the employment department of an international law firm and then as a specialist employment paralegal at the Government Legal Department. There, she advised government bodies on internal employment disputes and worked on a range of employment tribunal claims.
Sephlin attended the Bar Course in 2022 at the University of Law (Nottingham), earning the KCH Garden Square Excellence Award for achieving the best performance in her university cohort. She also received the 2022 Trinity Call Bar Course Award from the Honourable Society of the Inner Temple in recognition of her excellent performance on the course.
