Instructing Kitty Geddes

For more information please contact our clerks by calling +44 (0)20 7242 3555.

Kitty Geddes has developed a strong practice on a broad range of matters.

Kitty came to the Bar after having worked as a senior analyst in business intelligence and political risk in London, where the focus of her work was in Russia and the Former Soviet Union (FSU). She regularly worked on large-scale arbitrations, fraud cases and international asset traces.

Her interest in Russian and the FSU began at Edinburgh University where she studied French and Russian (1st class degree) and continued at Oxford University where she completed an MSc in Russian and Eastern European Studies.

She continues to work on large-scale investigations and is currently assisting on an on-going offshore money laundering matter. She prosecutes and defends in the Crown Court.

Kitty is instructed in all areas of family law. Since April 2017 she has been regularly and repeatedly instructed by Local Authorities in care proceedings. She has been involved in complex multiple party cases at both magistrate and county court level.

Kitty has accepted instructions for parents and the children in public law cases. She has recently been involved in a five-day final hearing in the West London Family Court representing the father. She has experience of representing vulnerable adults – those with severe learning disabilities, those who have difficulties giving instructions and young adults.

She is working closely with a senior member of chambers representing a parent in a non-accidental injury case involving a possible diagnosis of Ehlers Danlos Syndrome.

Kitty has represented parents in private law proceedings both on circuit and in the central family court where there have been allegations of domestic violence and cases where questions of relocation to an international jurisdiction have arisen. She recently appeared in the High Court representing a parent in an abduction and summary return case.

She represents clients in family finance cases where her experience in conducting large-scale asset traces when working in Business Intelligence can be of assistance.

Kitty accepts instructions in all areas of chambers’ practice including employment and clinical negligence.
