Holly is growing a broad family law practice covering private and children’s law. Since joining chambers, she has appeared in the Family Court and High Court, particularly in cases involving domestic abuse, children and forced marriage. She is client-focused and is adept at representing vulnerable clients with sensitivity.
Holly’s criminal practice covers general crime and she regularly defends and prosecutes in the Magistrate’s Court and Crown Court. More recently, she has undertaken led work in the Crown Court prosecuting serious crime. She previously volunteered as an Appropriate Adult in Southwark police stations, where she advocated for young people and vulnerable adults in detention.
In her civil practice, Holly welcomes instructions in small claims and fast-track matters and has experience advising and acting for claimants and local authorities in personal injury claims and associated litigation. Prior to coming to the Bar, Holly worked as a Legal Assistant at the Public Interest Law Centre where she worked exclusively on Gypsy and Traveller rights cases.
Before converting to law, Holly Twist was a graduate from Cambridge University where she studied Arabic and Spanish. She was a scholar of the Inner Temple and was awarded the Stephen Seabrooke Memorial Prize by the City Law School for her performance in her Criminal Advocacy and Criminal Litigation Bar Course assessments.
