Deborah Airey

Before starting pupillage, Deborah worked as a childcare paralegal for Local Authority. She was also an advice worker for Citizens Advice with the East Midlands Sickle Cell & Thalassaemia Network (EMSTN) where among other work she secured permanent funding for the project.

As a volunteer for the Free Representation Unit (FRU), Deborah successfully represented a client before the Social Security Tribunal, with the client being awarded a substantial payment. Deborah has also advised and assisted clients on housing matters, through the City Law School Community Legal Advice Clinic.

Deborah graduated with First Class Honours in Law from the University of Leicester. She received the Leicester Law School Jubilee Prize for the best overall undergraduate degree result and was awarded a Patrick Back Scholarship by The Honourable Society of Gray’s Inn.
