David Earl has developed a busy practice incorporating all of chambers’ core areas of work.
He joined 7BR in October 2020 after successful completion of his pupillage.
A Grade 2 CPS Prosecutor, David regularly prosecutes and defends in the Crown Court and undertakes complex cases in the Magistrates’ Court. Notable instructions have included: a prosecution under the Proceeds of Crime Act for money laundering offences in August 2022; and acting as junior in the prosecution of the remaining defendants in an eleven-handed class-A drugs conspiracy in March 2022.
David has an interest in matrimonial finance proceedings, having represented clients at both FDR stage and final hearings. He acts for local authorities, parents and guardians in care proceedings and receives instructions in private law family disputes.
David regularly appears in fast-track personal injury trials and advises in clinical negligence and personal injury matters.
David has represented both claimants and respondents in the employment tribunal, building on experience gained before coming to the Bar while working in a human resources position for an international NGO. Recent cases have included unfair dismissal, discrimination and pay disputes.
