Cameron was an undergraduate and postgraduate student at Cambridge University. He won multiple awards and scholarships as a student including the Lord Mansfield award (the most prestigious Bar scholarship from Lincoln’s Inn) and the Michael Hill QC Memorial Prize from the Inns of Court College of Advocacy for placing top of his year in Criminal Litigation.
While putting himself through law school, Cameron worked as a legal associate at an award-winning firm of immigration barristers. He also volunteered for the Free Representation Unit, appearing in multi-day Employment Tribunal hearings.
Immediately prior to pupillage, Cameron worked as a paralegal at the Service Prosecuting Authority based at RAF Northolt in a specialist rape, sexual offending, and domestic abuse team. He maintains a special interest in military-adjacent cases including cases in the Court Martial and appeals to the War Pensions and Armed Forces Compensation Chamber.

Cameron prosecutes and defends in criminal cases. He regularly appears in the Magistrates’ Court, Youth Court, Crown Court and Court Martial for individuals, corporate clients and prosecuting authorities. He has recently had instructions to appear in both the High Court and the Court of Appeal.
Cameron has experience appearing as prosecution and defence counsel in trials, first appearances, bail applications, sentence hearings, and POCA hearings across the full spectrum of criminal cases including fraud, drug trafficking, violence, sexual offences, arson, domestic abuse, robbery, driving matters, and environmental offences.
Notable Crime & Regulatory cases
R v A
Cameron secured convictions in a two-day Crown Court trial concerning dangerous driving.
A Local Authority v A
Acting for a company and director charged with environmental offences, Cameron persuaded the local authority to drop all charges against the director and two of the charges against the company.
R v R
Cameron successfully defended R in his exceptional hardship application, persuading the magistrates not to impose a driving disqualification.
R v O
Cameron was instructed to act for the Insolvency Service to respond to a defence application to the Court of Appeal. The defendant unsuccessfully sought permission to appeal against a custodial sentence imposed for fraud.
R v G
Cameron defended a 17-year-old charged with robbery in the Youth Court and persuaded the court to impose a referral order rather than a DTO.
CPS v N
Cameron acted for the CPS, responding to a defence application to the High Court. The defendant unsuccessfully appealed against the revocation of his bail by a Crown Court judge.

Cameron has experience appearing before the County Court, High Court, Employment Tribunal and War Pensions and Armed Forces Compensation Chamber.
He regularly acts for claimants and defendants both in civil trials, applications, and interlocutory matters. He is also regularly called upon to advise on prospects and draft legal documents.
Cameron has a special interest in employment law – before pupillage he acted for claimants in employment matters as a Free Representation Unit volunteer.
Notable Civil & Employment Law cases
W v Secretary of State for Defence
Cameron acted for a former member of the Armed Forces in his appeal to the WPAFCC. The appellant suffered with severe PTSD. Cameron successfully persuaded the Tribunal that the appellant's level of functional limitation fell into a higher descriptor under Table 3 of the Compensation Scheme than initially given, securing a significantly higher award on the tariff for the client.
L v DC
Cameron appeared in the Employment Tribunal in a Preliminary Hearing to determine the issue of disability. Having provided detailed written submissions on the law, the respondent conceded the issue of disability on the morning of the hearing. Cameron successfully negotiated a settlement of the case the same day.
H v C
Cameron persuaded the High Court judge to strike out a claim against a firm of certificated enforcement agents.
G v EC
Cameron successfully defended a local authority in a fast-track trial concerning a dangerous pothole. The judge was satisfied that the pothole was not dangerous, and further that a s58 defence in the Highways Act was made out.

Cameron has experience acting for parents and local authorities in public and private children’s proceedings.
He has appeared in the County Court and High Court in numerous applications for care orders, forced marriage protection orders, non-molestation orders, child arrangement orders and occupation matters.
Cameron also has experience acting for parties to matrimonial finance proceedings.
