Adam Walker acted in a clinical negligence action relating to the execution of a Scarf osteotomy by a foot and ankle surgeon performed in order to correct deformity of the first metatarsal.
The trial in Oxford involved the examination of the treating surgeon and experts on each side as to the correct technique and its application in this case. It concluded with a finding that the surgery was performed negligently, the rejection of an additional defence of Fundamental Dishonesty, the assessment of the claimant’s damages and making of an award of her costs.
Adam was instructed by Allan Janes LLP, High Wycombe. The case is reported as Howard v Kankate, 3 December 2024, Oxford County Court.
