Nour Haidar has joined the defence team representing Kadri Veseli in the trial of The Special Prosecutors Office v. Hashim Thaçi et al. at the Kosovo Specialist Chambers, which has its seat in the Hague. Nour is led by Rodney Dixon KC at Temple Garden Chambers and Kerrie Ann Rowan at 25 Bedford Row.
The Defendant is the leader of the Democratic Party of Kosovo and a former leader in the Kosovo Liberation Army. The charges against him relate to acts allegedly committed during the Kosovo War – a period of intense conflict between the Kosovo Liberation Army and Yugoslav Forces of Serbia and Montenegro.
The indictment includes six counts of crimes against humanity including persecution, imprisonment, and enforced disappearance, and four counts of war crimes, including illegal or arbitrary arrest and detention, torture, and murder.
The prosecution opened the case in April 2023 and it is ongoing.
