7BR welcomes its newest member, Tara Liao, representing a significant enhancement for 7BR and Chambers’ capability in the field of commercial arbitration.

Tara Liao has joined 7BR from Hong Kong to launch her practice in the UK. Tara’s knowledge of commercial disputes will build on the international work our members have undertaken in Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, the Caribbean, Channel Islands, Isle of Man and Cyprus.

Tara practised in Hong Kong as a solicitor in an international law firm from 2010 and as a barrister from 2015. She is ranked as a leading junior in the Commercial Disputes category by Legal 500 Asia-Pacific in 2021, 2022 and 2023 and sat as a Deputy District Judge in Hong Kong in 2021 and 2023.

Tara has a broad commercial practice with a focus on civil fraud, international arbitration, shareholder disputes, company, insolvency, trusts, injunctions and jurisdictional issues. She also has experience in insurance and regulatory matters.

In a statement, 7BR’s Head of Chambers, Rachel Langdale KC, said, “We are delighted that Tara is joining 7BR. Tara’s knowledge of commercial disputes will be invaluable to our work as a multidisciplinary set. Tara is an excellent lawyer and I look forward to the contribution she will make.”

For more information or to instruct 7BR’s Tara Liao, please contact Senior Clerk Steven Wright, via swright@7br.co.uk.
