Daren Samat prosecuted the director of a Birmingham restaurant, on behalf of the West Midlands Fire and Rescue Authority. The defendant was jailed for nine months and ordered to pay £15,000 costs.
This successful prosecution was brought under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and involved prosecuting the director of and the limited company as defendants.
