7BR has invested in state-of-the-art disabled access to transform the accessibility of its Grade II Listed home. Details on the Sesame Steps, can be viewed here.
As part of this project, we have put together a series of infographics, following interviews with five AccessAble Ambassadors. Language is a huge part of inclusivity, and for a disabled person, ‘popping to the shop’ can be a dramatically different experience. The infographics have been designed to highlight the realities and accessibility issues facing a disabled person when they’re asked to simply ‘swing by’ or ‘nip to the loo’.
AccessAble is largest provider of accessibility information across the UK. Their website www.AccessAble.co.uk has Detailed Access Guides to over 70,000 venues, and is used by over 3 million people each year.
AccessAble further supports 350 + clients to improve and communicate their access in and around their buildings and services, with valuable data and actionable insight. Using decades of experience listening to thousands of disabled people, AccessAble supports organisations to improve their buildings, policies, and services to welcome disabled people as customers and colleagues, through the provision of information, consultancy, and e-learning.
Thank you to the AccessAble Ambassadors who shared their stories with us. Their names and social media accounts can be found here:
We will be releasing 10 infographics over the coming days across our social media channels, check back here regularly where they will also be added each day.
