Gordon Aspden has secured an acquittal for his client Kian Gerrard in his first case after being appointed to silk. The 51 year old victim, was attacked by a group of young men brandishing a brick and a metal bar, as he made his way home from his local shop on 3 December 2019. Officers discovered his body, 12 days later, after he has been reported missing.
Following a 4 week trial, two men and a teenager were convicted – one of murder and the other two of manslaughter. Gordon’s client Kian Gerrard was acquitted of murder and manslaughter.
