Simon Whatley, was instructed by Janice Gardner at Russell-Cooke LLP for the claimant, a 73-year-old woman who received £500,000 total damages after sustaining nerve damages during L4/5 Transforaminal Lumbar Interbody Fusion surgery in August 2015 although liability was denied. She experienced dysaesthesia and hyperaesthesia in both lower limbs, was only able to mobilise with difficulty and her life expectancy was reduced by three to five years.
