Anderson Cosma, 25, was convicted of rape at Luton Crown Court following a successful prosecution by Maryam Syed.
Mr Cosma was also convicted of stalking and sexually assaulting another woman. He will be sentenced on 1 February 2019.
The rape took place on 13 February 2018 on The Embankment in Luton. Cosma had a short conversation with the victim before raping her in bushes at approximately 18.30.
He was arrested 12 days later when police officers identified him using CCTV of the attack.
Det Insp Jackie Dadd of Bedfordshire Police said: “This is one of the worst crimes that can happen to an individual.
“The jury’s verdict now ensures this individual can no longer cause harm to others, and we have been able to provide some justice for the victims who can now begin to rebuild their lives.”
Maryam Syed was instructed by the CPS.
