Brothers Roman and Sero Hemmings were convicted of murdering Ashley Johnson on 19 December following a trial at Leicester Crown Court.
The brothers were driving in Leicester on 24 February 2018 when they tailgated Mr Johnson’s car. When the cars stopped at traffic lights the occupants of both cars got out and an argument ensued. Roman Hemmings stabbed Mr Johnson in the back in a blow which the court heard was “unsurvivable”.
Roman Hemmings was jailed for life with a minimum sentence of 20 years and Sero Hemmings was jailed for life with a minimum sentence of 10 years.
Judge Timothy Spencer QC told the brothers: ‘You two have ruined lives, not just the lives of the people she talked about but the lives of many others and that’s irreparable.’
James Macdonald was led by Mary Loram QC.
