Adam Walker represented the family of Prep Prakash Rai, a former Gurkha, who died while on enhanced observations on a psychiatric unit at the Cavell Centre, Peterborough. An Article 2 inquest took place before a jury on 2-5 October 2017, when the jury returned a narrative conclusion. The findings of the jury included that despite having been on a regime of 15 minute observations and the notes of those observations recording that Mr Rai was alive and breathing some 10 minutes before his body was found by psychiatric nurses at the unit, he had in fact been dead for several hours before he was found.
