On Monday 16th May, a team from 7BR proudly walked alongside over 10,000 fellow fundraisers as part of the London Legal Walk.
The 10k walk through central London is the main annual fundraising event for the London Legal Support Trust, a charity raising money for the provision of free legal advice services through law centres, advice agencies and the citizens advice bureaux.
Team 7BR consisted of members and staff and raised over £1,000 at the time of the walk with sponsorship money still coming in. Rachel Holmes, Chief Executive at 7BR, began in post at the beginning of May, just in time to lead the team on the day. Rachel said:
“The work of London Legal Support Trust is crucial in enabling the most vulnerable in the community to have a fair and equal access to justice. The event itself was a fantastic occasion to celebrate the charity’s achievements to date and raise further funds to support the cause. On a personal note it was also a great way to start my time here at 7BR and I was very proud to be part of the team who walked on the day and witness the enthusiasm and charitable spirit in Chambers.”
The London Legal Walk of 2016 was the biggest and most successful yet, with more walkers than in any other year achieving a grand total of over £350,000 from the event.
