7BR’s William Chapman appears on BBC North regarding the Inquest into the death of Michael South

Michael South was a mental health patient who during transport by private ambulance to a psychiatric unit, took control of the ambulance and drove it into the path of an oncoming bus; killing himself and seriously injuring the bus driver. William was instructed by Stevie Reid at Pryers, York, to represent the family of Michael South at the Inquest.

The Coroner found that the risk he posed was inadequately assessed. The health trusts involved have apologised to Mr South’s family, saying changes to the system have already been made, with NHS England launching a full investigation.
