On 3rd June 2015 Alan Wilmot, a serial rapist, was convicted of attacking two women whilst on day release from an open prison.

Wilmot was convicted of rape, attempted rape, and other serious offences.

At the time of these offences he was serving four life sentences for a campaign of violent stranger rapes in London in the late 1980’s.

The trial, which lasted ten days, was prosecuted by Gordon Aspden.
