Pro Bono work: Members of Chambers have acted as volunteer barristers for the Bar Pro Bono Unit since it began in 1996. Others undertake pro bono work for the Free Representation Unit including appearing before the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority on behalf of brain injured victims of violent crime. A number of members work with their regular instructing solicitors to provide free legal assistance including for example, in the appeal to the Privy Council of four Pitcairn Islanders convicted of rape and indecent assault.

Inns of Court Sponsorship Scheme: For many years, each of the four Inns of Court has operated a scheme matching student members of the Inn with barristers. Many members participate in this scheme which seeks to support students as they take their first steps to a career at the Bar.

Greenwich University Link: We have developed close links with the law faculty at Greenwich. One of the newer universities, Greenwich has a diverse student body drawn from over 100 countries. Our primary aim is to encourage students to consider a career at the Bar. We have hosted events in chambers which allow students to meet informally with members and staff. We have talked to students about the training involved in becoming a barrister. We sponsor an essay prize on the topic of Human Rights. Members also chair moots and judge mock trials.

City of London University: For several years, we have sponsored an essay prize in Criminal Law. The competition is open to all CPE/Graduate Diploma in Law students at the university.

Speakers 4 Schools: A number of members participate in this highly successful scheme run by the Bar Council. The scheme is aimed at pupils aged 14-18. It seeks to raise awareness within schools and sixth form colleges of the role and training path of barristers.
