Pupillage

In 2011 we aim to offer pupillage to 1 or 2 pupils for  a 12 month pupillage commencing in October 2012. Each of our pupils is regarded as a potential member of Chambers and will receive an award from Chambers. Ten out of our twelve most recent pupils have been offered tenancies in Chambers.

At 7 Bedford Row, we take pupillage very seriously. We believe that our pupillage award should reflect the value we place on our pupils and our status as one of the country’s leading sets. We are well aware of the heavy financial burden on applicants to the Bar, and adamant that this should not prevent the most able individuals from achieving their ambitions.

With this in mind, we have increased Chambers' funding this year from £26,000 to £35,000.  Some of the award may be drawn down during the BPTC year. For more details select the Grants link. In addition to this, our pupils will be able to keep their earnings in their second six months of pupillage, which means the total value of the award is likely to be in excess of £40,000 .

The current pupillage season is now closed. We will be inviting applications for 2013 through Pupillage Portal next Spring.

THIRD SIX PUPILLAGES

Chambers does not normally recruit third six pupils. We are not offering any third six pupillages at present.
