Inquests
We appear in a wide range of inquests including those involving industrial disease, fatal accidents at work, medical negligence, product liability, deaths in custody and other Article 2 ECHR cases. Our work draws upon our recognised expertise in areas such as clinical negligence, product liability, health and safety and crime.
We have represented the family of the deceased as well as interested parties including police forces, medical practitioners, NHS bodies, private health care providers, local authorities and government departments and agencies.
Examples of our work include:
The inquest into the shooting of Jean Charles De Menezes
The inquests arising from the Ladbroke Grove and Hatfield train crashes
Deaths in hospital caused through a want of care; including through failures in cancer screening and paediatric anaesthesia
Suicides in secure psychiatric units
The death of a member of the SAS during a training exercise.
