Convictions and a 7 1/2 year sentence in £4.6 million money laundering case prosecuted by Luke Blackburn

Luke Blackburn prosecuted two men to conviction on all counts in an unusual money laundering case, in which the Crown could not prove the type of crime that generated the cash. One of the men was represented by a leading silk and junior.

The two defendants made deposits of between £100,000 and £345,000 in cash at banks and money service bureaux, the money then being transferred to accounts in foreign jurisdictions. They were awarded sentences of seven and a half and five years.
