TV surgeon settles High Court case

Simeon Maskrey QC recently represented Diane Newbould in her High Court action against leading plastic surgeon Jan Stanek. Mrs Newbould suffered a stroke during a facelift operation performed by Mr Stanek in 2002 at a private hospital in London. She was left unable to speak properly and in need of lifetime care.
Both Mr Stanek and the anaesthetist involved in the operation agreed to a settlement which means that Mrs Newbould will receive a significant six-figure in compensation. The precise details of the settlement are confidential and it was reached without any admission of liability by either Mr Stanek or the anaesthetist.
Jan Stanek has appeared as the consultant surgeon in all three series of the popular Channel 4 series "10 years younger". He also appeared in the Channel 5 series "Plastic Fantastic. "
