Excerpt Article from the Birmingham Post

7 July 2009

"This is an engaging piece, put on by a seasoned theatrical company that deserves wider recognition. "The Expert's Dilemma" takes place in a civil courtroom, and is based on a claim for compensation by a lady suffering from an alleged chronic pain syndrome. Simon Wheatley played the part of Claimant's counsel with gravity, but the stage took fire when leading counsel for the Defendant rose to her feet. Miss Rosalind Coe QC teased the expert with such elegant questioning that the worthy doctor was left groping for the correct answer. It was a sensational performance, made perfect by the skills of Peter Ellis, whose intelligent rendering of the bombastic doctor was a delight. Such finesse of playing has not been seen on the Birmingham stage for many years, and was perfectly suited to the intimidate space of the Anthony Collins theatre in the round. The finale when members of the cast pretend to put questions to the expert and barristers was cleverly done, with special mention going to Adam Clemens, William Chapman and Richard Baker. The intervention by Mr Clemens when the audience of solicitors pretended to have nothing to say was particularly well done. AVMA productions are to be congratulated on finding such a stellar group of performers, and we will look forward to their forthcoming appearance at the Edinburgh fringe."
