Susannah is a civil practitioner undertaking a range of child law and personal injury work. She also has a growing interest in clinical negligence cases.
Child Law
Susannah is a highly experienced advocate who regularly appears in the High Court in complex public and private law cases. She has acted for parents, guardians and local authorities and has acted for parents in international child abduction cases. Susannah has a growing interest in forced marriage cases.
Personal Injury
Susannah has considerable experience across a broad range of civil cases. Her particular interest is claimant personal injury work based on historical sexual abuse in the care system and/or at school. She has been instructed on behalf of claimants in group actions against the Ministry of Justice, various local authorities, dioceses of the Catholic Church and religious organisations in relation to institutions including:
Medomsley Detention Centre;
St William’s Children’s Home;
Rosehill Assessment Centre;
Susannah also undertakes actions against local authorities and schools in negligence and vicarious liability assault cases.
As a highly experienced former criminal practitioner and specialised rape prosecutor Susannah is used to dealing with the difficulties often encountered in sexual abuse cases and in advising on matters of disclosure, public interest immunity and privilege.
