Dr Peter Ellis has broad experience of acting for claimants, insurers and local authorities in personal injury claims, with an emphasis on claims involving complex medical evidence. His practice benefits from his experience as a former hospital doctor specialising in internal medicine, and as a former solicitor at Davies Arnold Cooper, London, acting for insurer clients. He also undertakes claims involving the armed forces, where he uses his experience as a former medical officer in the Royal Navy.

Dr Ellis is also an accredited mediator. He qualified at the Centre for Dispute Resolution in 1999. He undertook further training with the ADR Group. He has since undertaken numerous mediations for the ADR scheme at Central London County Court.

Dr Ellis writes extensively on his areas of legal expertise. He is an assistant editor of Tottel's Law of Limitation, and a regular contributor to the new electronic law journal PIBULJ (XPL Publishing). He is the co-author of the Work Related Injury & Illness Litigation Handbook (XPL Publishing), winner of the 2004 Royal Society of Medicine/Society of Authors' Minty Prize for best medico-legal book.

Dr Ellis is a member of the Personal Injuries Bar Association, the Society of Doctors in Law, and the Faculty of Forensic & Legal Medicine at the Royal College of Physicians of London.
