Maureen has the distinction of having appeared in some of the leading cases of recent times and, in particular, she was first junior for the Defence of Ian Huntley in the “Soham Murders” case (R v Huntley & Carr). Since taking Silk, she has gone on to consolidate her practice by appearing in other significant cases which, whether large in scale or great in complexity, have extended her experience in serious crime.
Coupled with her hallmark meticulous preparation and accessible manner, she has deservedly achieved recognition as consistently recommended counsel by Chambers & Partners.
Her background in the NHS has enabled her to deal with cases where medical issues and practice are to the fore and she has been instructed for both the prosecution and by the Medical Defence Union in trials involving members of the medical profession.
