Lauren’s practice encompasses a broad spectrum of criminal and civil work.
Criminal
Lauren acts for both prosecution and defence and has extensive experience in the Crown Court appearing regularly at plea and case management hearings, trials, appeals, sentences and disclosure hearings. Lauren undertakes a large range of criminal work including cases involving robbery, serious violence, drugs, fraud and firearms. Since completing her pupillage Lauren has been instructed to undertake disclosure work on a large fraud case in the Isle of Man. Lauren is a Grade 2 prosecutor on the Midlands circuit. Recommended Junior in Crime in Legal 500.
Extradition
In conjunction with her criminal practice Lauren has a particular specialism in the area of extradition work in which she prosecutes and defends. Lauren is regularly instructed by the CPS to appear in first instance extradition hearings and appeals in the Administrative Court on behalf of foreign states. Lauren has experience drafting extradition requests in relation to domestic prosecutions.

Kodos v Lithuania [2010] EWHC 897 (Admin) – a case concerning extradition offences and Article 7 ECHR
Szlachetko v Poland [2010] EWHC 1719 (Admin) – passage of time case.
Michalak v Poland [2010] EWHC 2150 (Admin) and Ficuta v Romania [2010] EWHC 2644 (Admin) – both cases concerned the validity of the European Arrest Warrant.
Kasprzak v Poland [2010] EWHC 2966 (Admin) – case dealing with Article 3 ECHR
Civil
On the civil side, Lauren represents both claimants and defendants and has experience of small claims, fast track and multi track hearings. She regularly advises in PI claims and in other areas.
Employment
Lauren also practices in employment law and has experience in areas including unfair and wrongful dismissal and discrimination claims.
Family
Lauren has experience in public and private law children cases in the FPC, County Court and High Court. She is instructed in care proceedings on behalf of the children’s guardian, NYAS, parents and other family members. Lauren has also appeared in the High Court in cases of Child Abduction and on behalf of the police in applications relating to police disclosure in care proceedings.
