Justin practices within the full spectrum of family cases including cohabitation claims, injunctive relief, complex private law disputes including those with a jurisdictional element, those where the children are separately represented, Wardship, and Hague Convention cases.
His particular expertise lies within public law care and adoption proceedings where he is often instructed on behalf of local authorities in complex cases. Justin acts also for parents and children across a wide field of applications and in high cost cases. He has significant experience with matters involving sexual abuse, serious violence within the family including those where children have been directly harmed, and where issues of mental health and cultural sensitivity arise.
Justin has represented professional and lay clients at all stages in proceedings and in pre-proceeding conferences where he is happy to give advice as to ‘next steps’. He appears at all levels of court, Family Proceedings Courts, County Court, and the High Court and has been involved in advising local authorities and parents as to appeals, both merits of and procedures to.
He frequently lectures on new developments in child and family law.
