In his time in chambers Jonathan has advised upon and conducted numerous trials in the personal injury field. He frequently deals with allegations arising from employers’ liability (“6 pack cases”), road traffic accidents, Highway Act claims and Occupiers’ Liability Act claims. He has advised in claims alleging historic physical and sexual abuse. He has conducted limitation trials.
Initially his practice was principally focused on Claimant work, but as he has become more senior his defendant practice has increased substantially. His clients have included GlaxoSmithKline plc, BAA plc, Compass Group plc, various local authorities and the Department of Work and Pensions.
He has successfully defended cases where the defendant has alleged that the claim made against it is fradulent eg. set up road traffic accidents or fabricated injuries at work.
He has conducted numerous credit hire cases and he is very familiar with this area of the law.
He will undertake Claimant work on a CFA.
He maintains a mixed civil and criminal practice and he finds that his experience in these other areas pay dividends when advising and conducting trials in the personal injury field.
