- Whether Sec of State’s interpretation of the armed forces compensation scheme for injured soldiers was correct. (Led by Derek Sweeting QC).

Discrimination (all strands)
Jeffrey acts for employers and employees in substantial discrimination claims. Examples of such cases are listed below:
- Acting for a multi-national consulting company in a substantial DDA claim where compensation of £1m + was claimed.
- A 7 week race discrimination case representing a local authority brought by a senior officer out of the alleged failure to promote to various positions over 15 years.
- Acting for professional regulator in an action of harassment brought against it by one of its members.
- Acting for a doctor in a substantial harassment case against his professional disciplinary body.
- Acting on behalf of a local authority in a race discrimination case involving a housing officer lasting 4 weeks.
- Acting on behalf of a multi national company in a case involving alleged religious discrimination.
- Acting on behalf of a local authority in a sex and race discrimination claim brought by a dismissed teacher listed for 10 days in the employment tribunal.
- On behalf of a local authority in a race discrimination case brought by a housing officer allegedly denied promotion listed for 6 days in the employment tribunal.
- On behalf of a local authority in race and disability discrimination claim alleging lack of reasonable adjustment on the grounds of disability bought by an auditor in a claim listed for 10 days.
- On behalf of a lesbian employee in an engineering company alleging sexual harassment over 3 years.
Data Protection; Privacy and Human Rights in the workplace
- Co-author of the Chapter; Human Rights in the Workplace in Tolleys’ Employment Law
- Jeffrey regularly advises employers on matters of data protection, RIPA, social media, and human rights issues arising out of the use of personal data in the employment context.
TUPE
- Regularly instructed by individuals, transferors and transferees in TUPE cases and has particular experience of the following sectors: Local government; motor industry; car transportation; retail; mining; engineering; consulting; defence contractors; and IT.
Agency Workers
- Currently instructed on behalf of a substantial TWA and on behalf of hirers in respect of the 2011 Regulations and has experience of advising on Swedish Derogation contracts.
- Has delivered seminars on the Agency Workers Regulations 2011
Equal Pay
- Acted for and advised local authorities in equal pay act claims involving individuals.
- Currently instructed by a local authority in a multiparty mammoth Equal Pay Claim involving over 1,000 claimants.
High Court Employment Law Actions and Advisory Work
- Regularly represents both employers and senior employees in High Court injunction proceedings in relation to restrictive covenants, confidentiality clauses and springboard injunctions.
- Advises and represents individuals and employers in respect of Share Option Schemes, Bonus cases and Carried Interest arrangements.
- Acted for insurers and employees in respect of the enforcement of phi policies.
- Advising employers and employees on severance packages for senior executives.
Disciplinary Tribunals
Jeffrey prosecutes and defends before disciplinary tribunals, including the following: Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy; General Medical Council; Royal Pharmaceutical Society Statutory Committee; Professional Conduct Committee of the British Acupuncture Council; Police Disciplinary Tribunals; Institute of Chartered Accountants, and; Care Standards Tribunal.
