Jason is a specialist practitioner in white collar and international crime, anti-money laundering and financial services litigation and compliance.
In his fraud-focused criminal practice, Jason acts for both leading defence firms and the major UK prosecuting agencies, including the SFO, and the Crown Prosecution Service, particularly on cases with a strong international element. He is currently instructed for the defence in relation to a £15m fraud upon National Westminster Bank Plc and by a company in relation to the SFO prosecution into alleged price fixing in the pharmaceutical industry.
Jason has also acted for the defence in criminal proceedings brought by both the Environment Agency in respect of environmental offences and by the Information Commissioner for alleged breaches of the Data Protection Act.
On the regulatory side, Jason regularly acts for both corporate clients and individuals in respect of proceedings brought by the FSA both before the Regulatory Decisions Committee and the Financial Services and Markets Tribunal. He has particular expertise acting in anti-money laundering and market abuse issues and has designed a number of compliance programmes for the regulated sector.
