Jaqueline (known as Jacky) Julyan SC practises in London and South Africa. Jacky undertakes ancillary relief cases involving moderate to substantial assets, and has acted in many cases where the parties hold international assets.
She is experienced in advising on pre-nuptial agreements, and can advise upon the respective merits of the same in any given case. Jacky also undertakes children cases, including parental abduction cases, and since being at 7 Bedford Row she has acted in Forced Marriage and public law children cases (both in London and regionally). In South Africa she has been instructed in many leading, reported family law cases.
She was called to the South African Bar in 1986; took silk in South Africa in 2004; and was called to the Bar of England and Wales in July 2009.
Jacky is a long-standing member of the International Bar Association (IBA) and is currently Chair of its Family Law Committee. In this capacity, she assists in the organisation and management of international conferences, where the input of lawyers from different jurisdictional backgrounds is of mutual benefit. She is an accomplished speaker on divorce and family law, and she has been instructed as a legal expert witness in international cases.
Jacky is also an advocacy trainer and most recently she has been invited to join the faculty of coaches for the Australian Bar Association’s advanced advocacy course (Melbourne, January 2011).
Jacky combines energy and intellectual rigour with a practical appreciation of what is required in any given case.
