Christina is a mixed practitioner, undertaking civil and family work.
Employment and Discrimination
Christina’s practice incorporates all aspects of employment and discrimination law. In addition to her advisory work, Christina regularly appears in the Employment Tribunal and Employment Appeal Tribunal on behalf of individuals, charities and trade unions in areas including banking, health, catering and government. Christina speaks regularly both in-house and to local authorities on employment topics and provides training to members of the legal charity LawWorks.
In the field of personal injury, Christina has a special interest and experience in claims arising from allegations of historic child sexual abuse. She is instructed on behalf of Claimants in group actions against the Ministry of Justice, various local authorities and dioceses of the Catholic Church in relation to institutions including Medomsley Detention Centre, St William’s Children’s Home and Rosehill Assessment Centre.
Christina acts in fast track and multi-track claims in many areas of personal injury including road traffic accidents, occupier’s liability, employers’ liability and fatal accidents. She is also instructed to appear at inquests on behalf of a range of interested persons, including families of the deceased.
Child and Family Law
Christina is instructed in public and private law children cases in the County Court and High Court. She acts for parents, guardians, NYAS and local authorities. She regularly appears in the High Court on behalf of the Metropolitan Police in disclosure applications in complex care proceedings. Christina also undertakes ancillary relief applications and has a keen interest in forced marriage work.
Christina has experience in human rights and false imprisonment claims. Christina recently acted for the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in a judicial review case arising out of an allegation of attempted rape at the British Embassy in Baghdad.
