A criminal practitioner, Yvonne has wide ranging experience prosecuting and defending in trials covering all areas of serious crime: homicide, international and domestic fraud, drugs smuggling and supply, corruption, armed robbery, grave sex offences and fatal accidents.
She has been instructed by the SFO, HM Revenue and Customs, the Health & Safety Executive, the DTI and CPS HQ in London and York. She has prosecuted and defended in many cases involving allegations of serious sexual or physical abuse against young children or babies, including 'shaken baby' cases, and cases where the allegations are made by children or patients against doctors, carers and others.
Yvonne also acts for parents in care proceedings where there are linked or anticipated criminal proceedings: for example, where there are serious allegations of non-accidental injury or sexual abuse, and where an understanding of the relationship between the two sets of proceedings and disclosure regimes is essential.
