Rachel’s principal area of practice is now in public law Children Act cases.

She is particularly well-known for her expertise in High Court care proceedings that feature the scrutiny and analysis of complex clinical evidence provided by medical experts. Rachel’s experience has been gained as a consequence of having being involved for many years in the fields of clinical and social work negligence.

Her specialist medico-legal experience is frequently called upon for cases that involve issues such as genetic testing, induced illness and the medical treatment of children.

Rachel also provides expert advice to local authorities on a variety of legal issues, including the use of the inherent jurisdiction/wardship proceedings, applications of policy/judicial review and the implementation of Brussels II revised/Hague Convention cases.

In addition, Rachel has had extensive experience in statutory tribunal and inquiry work. She also undertakes work in the Care Standards Tribunal.
