Louise’s practice has two main areas of focus.
In child law, her work includes public law care proceedings (in which she acts for local authorities, parents and children), adoption matters and private law children and family proceedings, particularly cases in which the children are represented separately. She has experience in child law work involving complex legal, medical and factual issues (for example, allegations of physical and sexual abuse; children with complex disabilities requiring specialist care; parents with learning disabilities) as well as cases involving jurisdictional disputes.
In her personal injury work, the emphasis is on public authority liability cases relating to child abuse claims. Louise also has experience in employers’ liability and road traffic accident cases. She acts for both claimants and defendants, her clients ranging from small independent companies and schools to NHS Trusts, major corporations and government bodies.
