Before coming to the Bar Leslie worked as a neurophysiologist and he is now a specialist in clinical negligence and personal injury cases, where his medical expertise renders him particularly suitable to act for claimants in cases involving serious brain injury or complex medical issues. A former case worker for AVMA, Leslie has been called to the Irish Bar.

Leslie speaks and writes regularly on clinical negligence issues. He was oneof the principal lecturers on the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists' legal course for newly-qualified consultants and is a former member of the editorial board of the Journal of Personal Injury Law. He is a current member of  the Bar Standards Board's Education Committee and Pupillage Sub-committee and on the editorial board of  Facts and Figures.

Leslie has recently accepted an invitation to chair a conference on Hospital Acquired Infections, organised by Central Law Training.

Family and Child Law
Leslie has been instructed on behalf of Local Authorities, parent and Children's Guardians in a wide variety of care proceedings at all levels of court up to and including the Court of Appeal.  His medical sciences background renders him particularly suitable for dealing with cases involving serious injury to children and he is renowned for his user friendly approach to clients.

  • Demery v Cardiff & Vale NHS Trust [2006] EWCA Civ 1131: causation in clinical negligence
  • Lloyd v Bro Morgannwg NHS Trust: A number of claimants who suffered as a result of a failure to diagnose prostate cancer
  • C v Mayday Hospital NHS Trust: Recovered £900,000 on behalf of a claimant who suffered blindness following a failure to treat a scalp swelling appropriately.
  • Acted for a number of claimants who obtained compensation from The Residential Institutions Redress Board in Ireland.
