All applications for 12 month pupillages must be made through Pupillage Portal in the summer season of applications (usually carried out between March and July each year), for pupillages due to commence in the October of the following year.
This year applications must be made via www.pupillageportal.com please refer to the website for the deadline for applications.
First round interviews will take place on Saturday 30th June 2012.
Final round interviews will take place on Saturday 14th July 2012.
Pupillage offers will be made from 2nd August 2012.
When you fill in the Pupillage Portal application form, you should bear in mind our requirements and the selection criteria upon which you will be marked (please select the appropriate links for more information). You should familiarise yourself as far as possible with the work of Chambers and take advantage of the helpful information available on the Bar Council’s website, in particular the pages concerning pupillage to be found at www.legaleducation.org.uk.
We operate the Bar Council’s Equality and Diversity Code in relation to members, staff and pupils. We welcome applicants regardless of age, sex, sexual orientation, race, marital status, religion or political persuasion. We encourage applications from those groups who are under-represented in chambers.
Competition for places is intense. Over the past few years we have received between 500 and 600 applications for pupillage each year.
From the applications received a list is drawn up of approximately 60 candidates who are invited for a first round interview. Ten of those candidates will be short listed for a final interview before a panel of members of Chambers.
One or two pupillages will be offered to the successful candidates after the final interview in accordance with the Pupillage Portal timetable.
