Nigel Povoas secures conviction of Notorious International Drugs Baron

26 October 2009

Curtis Warren, once “Interpol Target One”, was convicted last week in the Royal Court of Jersey in a trial, in which Nigel Povoas of 7 Bedford Row acted for the prosecution.

Considered to be the UK’s biggest and wealthiest gangster and criminal ever known, Warren was accused of conspiring a £1 million plot to import drugs into Jersey from Holland. It was described by him as a “little starter”.

The case has been described in the media as probably SOCA's most important success since its creation.

Sentencing is due on the 3rd December 2009.
