Nicholas Cropp & Gemma Lindfield successfully appeal Proceeds of Crime Act sentences
On 11 May 2010, Nicholas Cropp and Gemma Lindfield secured a 6 month reduction in sentence for three men accused of car-ringing offences under the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002.
The Court of Appeal (Pitchford LJ, Rafferty J and HHJ Goldstone QC) agreed that HHJ Fowler at the Derby Crown Court adopted too high a starting point in relying on established car-ringing authorities to determine the appropriate sentence for the three men.
This was Nicholas's second successful appeal against sentence in 2010.
